While our story dates back to 1862 and Abraham Lincoln’s Homestead Act, our time as a family-owned guest ranch is more recent. Middle Creek Ranch has been under the ownership of the Hunter family since 1991. Their goal has been to instill healthy and sustainable land, wildlife and livestock management and ranching practices, while allowing family, friends, and guests to experience everything the ranch has to offer. With bison, cattle, horse, and hay operations, Middle Creek Ranch employs a year-round staff to manage commercial activities and maintain a full-sized riding arena, natural ponds, and a mile and a half of frontage on Trout Creek.

The ranch has over 50 miles of wilderness trails accessible by horseback, Jeep, ATV, mountain bike, or foot. In the winter time, the trails offer endless opportunities for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, and sledding.

While all of Middle Creek Ranch is remarkable, what really sets it apart is the fact that it offers ten thousand acres of complete privacy.
